Art has been a part of my life from an early age. At age three, I amazed my parents by drawing my dad’s old cubic clock in perspective. When I was five years old, I began learning how to weave Persian rugs and read the carpet patterns from my grandmother who was a professional carpet weaver and pattern designer.
A result of my father’s love of photography, at the age of eight he gave me my first photography lessons, which later would encompass the techniques of photography and how to look at my subject matter. This experience led me to pursue and complete studying fine arts at the University of Calgary.
